We Did It—20 Million Pounds Recycled!

This spring, something big happened.

We officially hit our goal of recycling 20 million pounds of metal since May 10, 2024—and if that number feels abstract, let’s break it down. Because this isn’t just about metal. It’s about people, the planet, and the kind of progress that only happens when a community shows up.

So what does 20 million pounds really look like?

That’s the question we kept asking ourselves. So we did the math—and let’s just say... It’s heavy in more ways than one.

Why It Matters

Recycling metal isn’t just good housekeeping—it’s one of the most powerful tools we have for sustainability. Every pound of metal we recycle:

  • Conserves raw materials and keeps natural resources in the ground ♻️

  • Reduces greenhouse gas emissions 🌱

  • Saves massive amounts of energy (up to 95% in some cases!) ⚡️

  • Keeps recyclable materials out of landfills and in circulation 🗑️

And most importantly, it reminds us that individual actions add up. That aluminum can in your passenger seat? Part of the story. That old pipe you pulled out of your renovation project? That too.

Every drop-off, every bin, every visit—it all counted.

What’s next?

We’re not stopping here. This milestone is just one chapter in a longer journey.

We’ll keep pushing forward—educating the next generation, making drop-offs easier, and celebrating sustainability in every form.
